President’s Message
Robex' 2007 highlights include the resource calculation of the Nampala deposit and the discovery of a significant zone on the Wili-Wili property. In September, I accepted the post of President, succeeding Richard Savard who is now managing Mali operations, returning to his passion for Africa. I accepted the position mostly because I believe strongly in the quality of both its projects and its team - in spite of the Company's limited financial resources and the depreciation of its stock on the market.
It is true that the challenges facing Robex in 2008 are significant. To strengthen its position, the Company needs to increase its visibility and polish its image. We plan to do this by entering into financial joint ventures and strategic alliances.
Robex has a strong portfolio that includes ten quality projects in Mali. The Company has, so far, developed these projects independently. Partnerships, or strategic alliances, will reduce the risk inherent to exploration, create cost-sharing opportunities and increase the visibility of the Company. It is in this area that Robex’ will focus its efforts. Also, because exploration in West Africa is interrupted many months of the year during the rainy season, Robex plans to diversify its business strategy to ensure the Company is active all months of the year. Robex will consider various acquisition scenarios to broaden its horizons and improve its performance in the markets.
Summary of 2007 - Highlights
Nampala Wili-Wili N’Golopène Becomes increasingly interesting with the discovery of the Tabakoroni deposit located on the Finkolo property, the result of a partnership between Etruscan and Resolute, in the southern extension of the Syama mine. Drilling carried out by Resolute close to our property limit has returned outstanding results.
Sanoula Changes in the management. The price of gold continues to break records but the market for emerging companies remains stagnant. I want to thank Robex’ shareholders, both new and long-term investors, for their patience and support. I would also like to congratulate the Robex team for its determination. The team continues to find creative solutions that ensure the future of the Company, and allows Robex to reach its target - a target that we will not lose sight of.
Jean Demers,
President and CEO
