ROBEX ANNOUNCES A $2M EXPLORATION PROGRAM

Return to News Releases

09/19/2006

Montreal - Robex Resources Inc (TSX-V: RBX) is pleased to announce the beginning of its most important exploration program to date. A total of $2 M will be invested in exploration in the coming season, starting in September 2006 to conclude in June 2007.

Robex holds exploration rights to ten properties in Mali. Three in South Mali: Mininko, N’Golopene and Kamasso, and seven in West Mali: Diangounte, Sanoula, Kolomba, Moussala, Kossaya, Wili-Wili and West Wili-Wili. Some properties are at an advanced stage of exploration, while others are at the grassroots stage. The exploration programs will mainly focus on the three currently most promising properties: Mininko, N’Golopene and Wili-Wili

SOUTH MALI PROGRAMS – SEPTEMBER 2006 – JUNE 2007

All three properties located in South Mali, will be the target of exploration. Anticipated expenditures will reach $1M, 50% of which will be spent on drilling.

Mininko: Expand gold resource to 1 M oz

Mininko is located between the Morila and Syama world-class gold mines. Three gold targets are located on the Mininko permit: Nampala in the northeast, N’Golola in the southeast and an arsenic anomaly area in the northwest.

Previous drilling programs have consistently expanded our well-established gold resource at Mininko. Between 5000 and 6000 m of RC and/or AC drilling will be undertaken between October and December 2006. Robex’s objective is to reach sufficient gold resource to allow exploitation by heap-leach gold mining. A resource calculation is possible in early 2007.

Nampala

Nampala was the first target discovered on Mininko. Geochemical-soil sampling, ground geophysics (IP) and drilling in 2004-2005, revealed Nampala’s gold potential. Following are some of the results:

Some holes will be drilled in the northern part of Nampala, where gold mineralization was identified during the last drilling program.

Timing and drilling results, will determine the relevance for Diamon Drilling to test a gold discovery in granites at depth in the southern part of Nampala. Most of the gold discovered to date on Mininko was found in sediments, at shallow depth. This model, of lower grades in sedimentary oxides, underlain by higher grades in the bedrock at depth, is similar to the Morila Mine findings.

N’Golola

Most of the drilling will be carried out on open mineralized areas of the N’Golola gold target. A RC drilling program carried out in 2005 identified gold mineralization. The most significant results are shown on the table

Mineralization remains open in the northeastern part of this prospect.

Arsenic anomalous area

In 2005, the geochemical-soil samples collected over Mininko were re-assayed for arsenic (gold in the area is largely associated with arsenopyrite, an iron-arsenic sulphide). An arsenic anomaly, similar in size and intensity to the Nampala and N’Golola anomalies, was discovered in the northwestern part of the permit. Robex completed ground geophysics to search for intrusive structures and is reviewing the results. Pits and trenches could be undertaken, and if warranted, some RC drilling will be completed before December.

N’Golopene

N’Golopene is a new acquisition for Robex. The property is located in the Birimian formation, the volcano-sedimentary rock hosting the Syama gold mine. N'Golopene is located North of the Syama deposit currently being reopened by Resolute Mining. Robex identified targets, two of which, offer opportunities including eluvial, and hard rock environments.

Several areas of the property exhibit historical and current gold digging activity. The Banmbere and the N'Golopene sectors show geological settings favourable for gold mineralization.

Soil geochemical work will be completed in October. Some ground geophysics may then be undertaken and 2000 m of Air Core or RC drilling could be completed before the end of the year.

Kamasso

Kamasso was acquired to secure the southern limits of Mininko, which contained a gold resource. Grassroots surface prospecting, starting with soil geochemical work will begin to determine the potential of the property.

WEST MALI PROGRAMS – SEPTEMBER 2006 – JUNE 2007

Five of our seven properties will be the target of exploration. Anticipated expenditures will reach $1M, 50% of which will be spent on drilling.

Wili-Wili: priority number one in West Mali

Grassroots exploration carried out earlier this year led to an important gold discovery. Wili-Wili is now Robex’s no.1 priority in West Mali. Soil-geochemistry identified a gold – arsenic anomaly, 2.8 km long by 600 m wide, coinciding with two structural systems oriented NW and NNW visible on the regional MAG map. Re-sampling of old pits from the north-central part of the anomaly revealed high gold values.

Exploration planned includes additional geochemical work to define extensions of the anomaly and the digging of pits and trenches for sampling purposes to confirm consistent gold values over a broader area. The pits and trenches will be completed over the pits area previously sampled. An IP survey will also be carried out over the geochemical surveyed area. Drilling will probably follow in January or February of 2007.

Work on Wili-Wili is planned to commence in October.

Sanoula

Recent drilling along the Senegalo-Malian shear zone within the Sanoula permit yielded promising gold results in mineralization typically found at the Loulo Gold Mine located south along the same tectonic shear zone. Mineralization remains open to the south. Complementary RC drilling could be undertaken in 2007.

Moussala

Samples from two 100 m-long trenches in the northeastern part of Moussala returned interesting sporadic values.

Geology in the southern part of the permit is different from geology in the northeastern part, and holds potential for a gold discovery. Grassroots prospecting, both geochemical and geophysical, is planned for the southern part of Moussala in November and December.

Kossaya

A grassroots geochemical program will be undertaken in October and November to determine whether the property has exploration potential.

Diangounte

A RC drilling program was carried out in May-June of 2006. Two rich but narrow gold-bearing quartz veins were drilled at the site of intense gold digging, close to the La Corne gold bearing placer.. Gold in the veins is associated with pyrite and chalcopyrite.

Despite some rich intercepts, gold-bearing vein stockwork in the immediate area of the drilling has not yet been identified. Furthermore, gold is not associated with arsenic, which makes it difficult to trace on surface.

Robex Resources Inc TSX-V: RBX is a Canadian mining exploration and development company focusing on Mali, West Africa. Mali is currently the 4th most important gold producing country in Africa. Robex's permanent exploration office is located in Mali, and is operated by senior geologists with an extensive experience in West African mining exploration. The team works on projects the Company already owns and is always on the lookout for new projects with favourable geology and a high potential for the discovery of world-class gold deposits. This permanent presence in Mali has allowed Robex to become one of the most active exploration and development companies in West Africa. In 2005, Robex was the third most important mining company operating in Mali in terms of investment in exploration.
